Agility Fun Match
The Washington County Pet Expo brings together the area's top trainers to demonstrate a variety of canine
sports and activities.  See the "Schedule" link  at left for a detailed event listing.
Jumping, flying, splashing...Oh my!   If your dog loves
the water, you'll want to try the Pier Pups dock
jumping
.   Our free standing pool is a 32' long by 16'
wide by 4' deep.  Dogs are encouraged by their
owners, our experienced staff and the crowd to jump
off the dock to retrieve their favorite toy.  Prepare to
get wet!
Weave Poles
An obstacle course for dogs...and their owners!
Tunnels, jumps, weave poles, tetter-totters, chutes &
A- frames are just some of the obstacles dogs and their
owners have to navigate in this fast-paced, competitive
sport.  This is a full sized competition course, but just
for fun!  A fun match is a great way to gain experience in
a trial setting.  It exposes your dog to the challenges of
competitive agility trials, such as new dogs &
equipment, spectators and different surfaces.   You can
choose whether you want to be timed and judged or
just train in the ring.
* Dogs entering the Agility Fun Match should have basic training
on agility equipment and should be able to safely perform obstacles.
Many dogs found their claim to fame at last year's Lure
Course event.
Lure coursing attempts to imitate the
chase of a rabbit during a hunt...but without the rabbit!
Even dogs who had no previous experience raced
after the lure like a pro.  The lure is usually a plastic
grocery bag tied to a cable.  The cable runs through a
series of pulleys placed on the course.  The lure is
zipped up, down and across the course enticing the
dog to catch it. Fast and Furious Fun!
Winnie Lure Coursing
Some of the competition last year included, a
Border Collie that sang to her favorite song on an
I-pod, a cute little Jack Russell that woke her
human kid from a nap by crawling under the
blankets, an Italian Greyhound that leapt gracefully
over her owner's back, and stout Corgi that
performed an amazing feat of backing up in every
imaginable way, and even some you couldn't
imagine.  Well Done!
