Pier Pups...Pier Pups is a new dock jumping venue that is geared toward novice dogs. It is all about
having fun...no pressure. Dogs that have never jumped or have not had any training in dock jumping are
welcome! The Pier Pups staff is patient and experienced with novice dogs and will take the time to make
sure your dog is comfortable with the dock and pool. We have a 32' long by 16' wide by 4' deep
free-standing pool. There is a carpeted dock and a slatted exit ramp. You may bring your dog's favorite
toy or use one of ours. Experienced dock jumpers will enjoy showing newcomers how it is done!
Agility Fun Match...Our agility fun match is a competition-sized course, set up on grass, utilizing
obstacles such as tunnels, tires, jumps, A-frames, dog walk, tetter-totter, weave poles, tables, and
chutes. You may choose to be timed and judged to compete for prizes or you can choose to "train in the
ring". This is a great opportunity for novice dogs to gain experience in a trial setting. All we ask is that
dogs be familiar with and able to perform obstacles safely. Any obstacle that your dog is not comfortable
with may be by-passed. Dogs of all experience levels, from novice to expert, are welcome!
Lure Coursing...If your dog has never tried any canine sports before, this is the perfect one to start with.
Last year, people who thought their dogs were just couch potatoes got to see them in a whole new light.
This is an exciting sport that draws from your dog's prey instinct. Dogs are enticed by a lure attached to
a cable that runs around a series of pulleys set up on the course. The lure, usually a common plastic
grocery bag, is controlled by a remote and can speed up or slow down and can switch direction to fool
those dogs that anticipate the lure's track.
Confidence Course...This event is new this year and is sure to level the playing field! Based on the
concept of a military confidence course, there will be obstacles not commonly found in an agility course.
Test you and your dog's confidence as you splash through mini pools, practice fancy footwork through
ladders, and wiggle your way through the hay bale maze. Dogs of all experience levels are welcome to
compete for prizes in this event. The Confidence Course won't require any prior training or special
skills...just a little confidence!
Best Trick Contest...If you think your dog is the most talented in the world, show us his best stuff and
you could will a doggie bag full of prizes! An impartial panel of judges will narrow it down to the three
best tricks then it will be up to the crowd to pick the Top Dog.
Weave Pole Challenge...If your dog loves to weave, this is the event for you. Dogs compete for prizes to
see who can successfully complete all 45 weave poles in the best time.
